Proud of Myself?

For the first time in over 6 years, I have straight A’s in all of my academic classes. That sounds amazing, right? Yes it does, but it also sucks that I have been in my undergraduate program for longer than the usual 4 years. I feel like I should be further in my life and that I should be at work or in grad school. I feel like my life should be more together than it currently is. While I do feel that I am behind in my life, getting good grades has once again proven to me that I do have intelligence and I can go as far in my life as I am willing to push myself. I think we all need to find something that makes us feel as if we can push ourselves past the limits we have set for ourselves. Set a goal and go for something. Maybe at the end of this, I will be fully proud of myself.

You Need 2 Things: Motivation & Encouragement

Today, I listened to Corey Calliet’s Instagram video where he discussed the two things we need to be successful in life: Motivation and Encouragement. We get encouragement from others and that’s why we need to surround ourselves with positive and supportive people. We also need to then find motivation and that comes from within. These are Corey’s 4 principles for staying motivated:

  1. Dedication
  2. Discipline
  3. Consistency
  4. Sacrifice

You need these 4 principles plus encouragement to find success in anything you do.

Preparation + Opportunity = Luck

Stay lucky. Stay Motivated. Be Encouraging.

Look At Every Toxic Behaviour In Your Life

7ac4ff9ec3ef0618f8a044601cfed4b5In order to change your life, you need to look at every toxic behaviour in your life.

A lot of people hate to look at themselves and define themselves, especially the ‘ugly’ parts of their personalities. We all have faults and none of us are perfect.

In order to move forward, let go, and understand who YOU are, you need to understand how you got to that place. In order to grow, you need to become more emotionally intelligent. In order to become more emotionally intelligent, you need to understand how your negative (or toxic) behaviours have brought you to the place you are today. Only then can you change your future.

We all make mistakes in our pasts and some are more detrimental than others. It is important to understand that we can change our lives at any moment we decide to for the better. We cannot change the past but we can change the future. Once you understand that you can make your future much brighter than your past ever was, then you can start to grow and change as a person.

Commit to improving yourself by 1% per day, everyday, until you are the best version of you. Then, when you feel that you are the best you can be, put that 1% per  day into maintaining that sense of self you have created. You will feel much happier and healthier mentally when you do so.

Love yourself wholly enough to look at yourself completely. When you make peace with who you used to be, you can become who you NEED to be and your world will become a brighter place.

You can do it.

Maybe Travelling Will Help?

Since my awful break up this year, I have really felt confined by the space and place I am in. I am finishing up my undergrad and about to start a masters, but I feel trapped in my environment. My goal and hope for the remainder to 2018, is to be able to free my soul through deep mediation and travel.

I want to travel and see new places and create new memories and experiences. If after I travel, I am still unable to be happy with everything in life, then I will determine that most of what I feel is internal and not environmental.

On my travel bucket-list I will be attempting to visit:

  • Spain
  • Ottawa, ON, Canada
  • USA
  • Colombia

Lets see if I actually make it and follow my travel tab to see me write about my experiences.

Day 6: Doubt

“There is a tendency to doubt your growth in the midst of a big leap forward. Hold steady and trust God’s strategy” – Sprinkle of Jesus

For the first time in my life, I have to analyze my role in the negative situations in my life. While I am becoming more self actualized, I do find myself taking steps back and feeling like I am not growing or progressing the way I thought I should be. My break up was my big leap forward as I needed this to happen in order for me to grow and mature as an individual. Maybe all of these negative moments and outbursts are God’s way of showing me that I need to make changes and realization of my behaviours. It is amazing to see how we can change when we realize our wrongs. We may lose people along the way of us making these changes but we have to accept that there will be better and happier moments along the way. I’m excited to see what growth and beauty will come from my dark period and setbacks. Everything good will happen in due time. Love yourself and trust in the process and you can move mountains for yourself ❤

Let Them Go

This is my Health and Wellness tip of the day: let them go.

Let go of the people who no longer serve a purpose in your life in order to grow.

Don’t get bitter and think that they weren’t for you and that’s why they are gone. Think about the fact that they were for you for a time and that you now need to let them go because you both need to grow.

Thank them, whether internally or externally, for the time and role they spent in your life and then keep on letting your heart be thankful for them walking in and out when they did. Every one you meet that touches you has the power to transform and change your life. Grow and show yourself the power you have gained from their presence. Do not dwell in their non existence in your space, but flourish in YOUR gratitude of their existence in the world. For you would not have had the lessons you had if they were not there, nor would you have been able to find the tools to grow that you needed.

Be thankful and let them go. More people will come, that is a fact. Learn and let go of the ones who have finished teaching you how to be good to all the others.
