Today is one of my more sad days – it is the last day of my relationship. I have been listening to different songs and reflecting upon how I feel and I keep on playing songs from Zac Brown Band. At this difficult time, they are all resonating with me, well, the ones that I like are. Your Majesty is one of the bands newer songs and I am really enjoying its composition. The lyrics are truly beautiful and catchy and make you feel emotions. Its easy to tie this song to a person or event or spiritual sense just by following the lyrics. Anyways, I hope that this song brings a sense of calm and peace to whatever your day brings. Remember, that there is beauty in all things, even the saddest things at the most heartbreaking times.
Blue Ain’t Your Colour is a country song by artist Keith Urban. Its a slow song about a man who is looking at a girl who has lost her soul due to a boy who failed to treat her right. Its a beautiful song overall. I really enjoy listening to this song while travelling on the bus. Hope you enjoy it too!
If there is one thing that 90% of people who know me know about me, it defiently has to be that I do not like country music that much. The whiny sound that occasionally accompanies the voice is never my cup of tea, however, lately (due to the fault of some of the people I like to call friends) I have started to indulge once in a while in a few select country tunes (generally sans whiny voice).
Dirt Road Anthem is a song by country musician James Aldean that is simply an ode to the basic country life that most country lovin’ people have come to enjoy. I really do love the course of the song; it feels so sentimental. I just feel like I’ve lost that connection to the country life I once/never knew and I need to somehow build a reconnection with it.
In honour of Sam Hunt performing in Toronto last night (and me living vicariously through my friends) I have decided to post another one of my favourite Sam Hunt songs, Leave the Night On. Leave the Night On is a fun and upbeat song about having a good old fun time. There is also the element of young love in there as well. There is really nothing much else to it. It is fun and catchy; you’re sure to stay dancing.
Take Your Time is a kind of love song by Sam Hunt. This song is about a guy who wants to introduce himself to a girl that he is instantly smitten with but nervous to approach. There is also discussion of a male falling into the traditional stereotypes of a guy approaching a girl at the bar. The lyrics of this song are basically going through the typical assumptions one makes when a guy approaches a girl at the bar, and attempting to shatter them by the lyrics promoting different, more positive, intentions.
While that is how I interpreted the song, the video is a little different. It shows guy who is smitten with a girl that he has seen but does not really know. He realizes that she is unhappy and for some reason he feels drawn to her.
I really liked this song and the meaning behind it. Another great one by Sam Hunt!
You’re all invited to Sam Hunt’s House Party… metaphorically of course. This song is so fun and bubbly and actually makes me feel like inviting my friends over for a fun time or going on summer drives with them. Its such a fun summer song. What I especially like about this song is that it is the first party song in a long time that has nothing to do with having fun under the influence of anything. It talks about having simple fun with your friends, that’s all.
I think that I am currently in a Sam Hunt phase as I have been just looking for all of his songs and falling in love with each one I hear so look forward to more recommendations from this artist. I still haven’t figured out if I am going to categorize him as a Pop or Country artist yet, let me know what you think!
Jessie James Decker. Is it alright for me to say that she is kinda my life inspiration and I love her? Not only is she perf, she is also married to Eric Decker who is a wide receiver for my favourite football team, Denver Broncos, so that makes her even more perfect. Her song, I Do, which she wrote for her husband on their wedding day is just one of those love songs that will become played at weddings all over North America for years to come, especially at a Country Girls wedding. Its not that this is the best love song I have ever heard, nor are the lyrics spectacular enough to earn it a Grammy, but it is just a beautiful song and her vocals (which are stunning btw) colour every single word she says with such a truth that you can feel her love. That is simply why I love this song. Maybe this too will inspire you to play it at your wedding…I know I will.
P.S. I tear up every time I watch this video. Keep your tissues near.
