Merry Christmas to you all that celebrate and if you don’t, then Happy Monday to you too!
I know that this is one day late, but I just wanted to acknowledge those of you that have been following and reading my blog since 2012! Its exciting to know that I have been using this blog for almost 6 years now and I am so excited to still have all of you reading along with me! I know that I don’t get around to blogging as much as I used to but 2018 is a year in which I hope to start again! Thanks for your continued support!
Every Holiday season, I like to let you know what I am listening to as a way to get into the spirit of things. This year, I have really gotten into this one song from Pentatonix. I am not a fan of acapella performances but this version of O Come All Ye Faithful was truly well done. If you need a pick me up song for the holiday season, then this is it for sure!
Merry Christmas to all of those who celebrate. Although I haven’t posted in over a month, I thought that Christmas Day would be a better time than any to write about a Christmas Song. This season, I have taken a liking to Jordin Sparks Christmastime to Me song. I originally heard this song on the Best Man Holiday Soundtrack and for it being the first track on the album, it is definitely an upbeat song that brings you right into the feeling of the holiday season. Not only is this song great for this film, but it is even more amazing on a day like today. So here it is, Enjoy!!!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in a Winter Wonderland? You think about a place that’s perfectly white, fluffy, cold, shining with Christmas lights and happiness. But is that really what a winter wonderland is? Every time I listen to Emeli Sande’s version of Winter Wonderland, it reminds me of the saddest Christmas season that one can experience. It sounds as if she is singing this from the outside, and not from the actual experience of what a Winter Wonderland actually is. Her voice is stunning, but in a haunting kind of way. This song actually compliments my mood of the holiday season this year so well… depressing.
“A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight, walking in a Winter Wonderland”
So, In the spirit of Christmas, I will be blogging about Christmas/Holiday songs that I find particularly pleasing to the ear. First off to start the Holiday season is Deck the Rooftop by the Glee Cast. This song is a mash up of two very popular holiday songs: Up on the Rooftop and Deck the Halls. This is one of my favourite Christmas songs. Its fun, peppy, and great for dancing to at a Holiday/Christmas party. Anyways, add this song to your holiday playlist and enjoy…because I defiently know that I will be enjoying this song on mine :).
