My New Daily Mantra.
I am currently obsessed with Sam Smith. Every so often I go through a phase where I become really obsessed with an artist and everything that I listen to is from that artist and I replay their music until I am absolutely tired of it. This is what is currently taking place with Sam Smith’s music. Nirvana is a song by Sam Smith that was made for his first EP (Way before the hit Stay with Me). It is the perfect blend of R&B with Jazz elements and Smith`s voice is the icing on the cake. His vocals and falsetto are done in an imperfectly perfect way and compliment the song well. All in all, I really do enjoy this song and I do think that it is quite well done. Look forward to more blog pieces on the wonderful Sam Smith and his music!
By now, many of us have seen a cute little film called The Wizard of Oz. This film is by far one of the most revolutionary and popular films of all time. It will forever be a staple in pop culture and a cute inspirational movie. Furthermore, we will forever at least know of one dog named Toto, to commemorate the cutie that was in the film. Most importantly from this film, was the song that it inspired Somewhere over the rainbow. This song is heard towards the end of the film and is probably one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The other day, I was looking on YouTube for the original version of this song and I stumbled upon a version by P!NK. Her version was sung at the Academy Awards and is probably one of the most beautiful versions I have ever heard sung. I wanted to share this beautiful rendition with my followers because it is amazing and probably a little bit emotional, but truly it brings you back to a time when you probably wanted to escape from something but could not find the words or strength to do so. It also reminds you that there is beauty in sadness and there is beauty in everything.
This isn’t really a blog post about a song but this video was just so moving and heart warming that I thought it deserved a re-post. This is a drinking and driving awareness video made by none other than the beer maker, Budweiser. This video just goes straight through to your heart with emotions because it shows the bond between man and his best friend, the dog. Just watch this video and you will see what I mean. Since this is a music blog after all, I should tell you that the song featured in this commercial is called When You Come Home By: Dan Rodriguez. Enjoy this video and the emotions it will evoke.
